Environmental sustainability is a priority at Wish You Were Here Eco Village Inc. We will engage environmental consultants through all phases of development. By the final stages we plan to be a net zero campground, meaning we hope to have no negative environmental impact and will be producing our own energy rather than relying on utility companies.

To achieve our net zero vision we will:

•  remove as few trees as possible during construction, actively replant and replenish with xeriscaping and native plants, maximize undisturbed natural areas;

•  salvage, mill and construct with wood from our site; including chipping for ground cover and utilizing sawdust to build soil and retain moisture where needed;

•  construct energy efficient designs utilizing solar power as a primary heat and energy source and low flow toilets and faucets to conserve water;

•  plant an organic community garden and fruit and berry orchard. Raise small animals such as chickens for eggs, entertainment and fertilizer and stock a small fish pond;

•  build a garden market for our community that offers locally grown or sourced produce or products and low waste and environmentally friendly outsourced products as necessary (example: TrueEarth laundry detergent);

•  provide natural walking trails and ample areas for wildlife; 

•  no natural gas use on site;

•  impliment a multi-faceted water capture system;

•  through these initiatives build a like-minded and involved eco village community.
